Welcome

I have over 20 years of expertise working in early intervention home-based programs, elementary, middle school and high school-based programs, and clinic-based centers in New York and New Jersey. What I found most enjoyable is my work with children and their families in their natural environment - their homes. Utilizing my educational background, I'm able to look at a family's unit - the family members, their culture, their supports and stresses - to create unique and realistic goals for their child. Children are unique; families are unique. A child's occupational therapy goals and strategies must be child-centered, yet family-focused. This work has been my passion for so many years because I see the empowerment that families experience when they learn and use appropriate strategies to help their children succeed. As you can see, I LOVE what I do! Each child's success is personal to me. I created Play to Succeed Pediatric Occupational Therapy to continue my journey of sharing my experiences as an occupational therapist with even more families and their children. I hope I have the pleasure of working with yours.

Owner & Occupational Therapist
Hello! I am so happy to share my journey as an occupational therapist with you. It started when I graduated with my Bachelors of Science degree in Human Development & Families Studies from Cornell University in 1993. It was there that I learned about all aspects of typical human development including physical, mental, social, and emotional. At the same time, I also studied, in depth, the role of families for individuals as well as families in society. With that background and a career exploration internship at Rusk Rehabilitation at NYU Langone, I knew for sure that occupational therapy was the perfect career for me. I was drawn to the idea that activities are therapeutic. While treatment is based on science, treatment activities are limitless with creativity. I also strongly believe in working to heal the entire individual (physical, mental, social, and emotional). I graduated with my Master of Science degree in occupational therapy from Columbia University in 1995. Since then, I've worked with the pediatric population and never once thought to do anything else. I find that children are so dynamic and resilient. In sessions, they constantly keep me on my toes, providing many opportunities for me to use clinical reasoning skills to adapt activities, modify the environment, and assess/re-assess strategies.
Our Mission
Our mission is to offer quality home-based occupational therapy services for children and their families where we provide the perfect challenge in every single session. We will utilize a child's strengths to work towards achieving goals, creating opportunities for success and building confidence in each session. In addition, we will maximize the use of your child's natural environment to pursue the best outcomes.
